There's something for everyone at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge! Come out for a picnic, enroll in a class, take a naturalist-led day or night hike, or enjoy the plants and animals on your own as you explore 3,600 acres of nature.  
 
Canoeing
 

Canoe Fest - Paddle the quiet waters off Greer Island with your family or friends. Its the perfect way to cool off and have fun on Sunday afternoons!

Canoe Tours - Tour parts of the West Fork of the Trinity River, a relaxing, fun way to spend your Saturday morning. Your guide will point out blue herons and beaver dams, identify ducks and other wildlife.

Canoes, paddles and life vests are provided.

   
Hikes and Walks

Its all here - 50 miles of trails ranging from leisurely wheelchair accessible paths to challenging hikes on rugged trails. What you'll see are plants, insects, birds and other wildlife that call the Nature Center their home. Here are a few:

Wildflower Walks - Enjoy Naturalist-led walks and learn about the Nature Center's many blooming plants.

"Herp" Walks - Go with your Guide in search of local amphibians and reptiles, and learn about their habitats.

Night Stalkers - A different kind of hike as you explore the nature of the night. Learn from your Guide about animals that are only active after the sun goes down.
